Florian Richter, PhD, is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of ArtemisAI Labs, where he leads development of NeoPose, a computer vision system that monitors neurologic status in critically ill infants from bedside video. He completed his PhD in surgical robotics at UC San Diego as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, where he developed autonomous systems for tasks such as suturing and clearing blood from the surgical field, work recognized with ICRA Best Paper Awards in Medical Robotics in 2023 and 2025, and contributed to the first live surgery performed with humanoid robots. Embedded with neonatologists and neurologists at Mount Sinai, he co-led the studies showing that bedside video alone can detect sedation and cerebral dysfunction in infants and adults. At ArtemisAI Labs he has built NeoPose into a clinical product now enrolling in NeoNOVA, a multi-site NICU trial at Mount Sinai and Weill Cornell Medicine.
