The AIMed26 Abstract Competition

This popular competition provides an exceptional platform to showcase groundbreaking ideas that harness the transformative power of AI to revolutionize healthcare delivery.

Whether you're a student, a clinician, an entrepreneur, or just passionate about improving health outcomes, this is your moment.

Prior publications, completed research, or access to clinical datasets are not required - what matters is the strength of the idea.

What we’re looking for:

We are interested in ideas that demonstrate:

  • A clearly defined healthcare problem worth solving
  • An AI-powered solution or concept (clinical, operational, educational, or research-focused)
  • Thoughtful consideration of feasibility and real-world impact

Clear, accessible communication

Abstract competition sponsor, Elsevier

Submission Format

To keep the process simple and consistent, all submissions are completed through a short online form.

Your abstract should clearly describe:

  • The healthcare problem you are addressing
  • Your AI-powered idea or solution
  • The potential impact or benefit of your approach

You’ll also be asked to upload 2 slides (PowerPoint (.pptx):

Slide 1: Problem

Explain the healthcare challenge:

  • What is the problem?
  • Why does it matter?

Who is affected?

Slide 2: Solution

Explain your idea:

  • What is your AI-based solution?
  • How could it work in practice?

What impact could it have?

Please keep your slides:

  • Simple
  • Visual
  • Easy to understand at a glance
  • Designed more like a poster or visual summary, rather than a formal presentation deck

Clarity and communication are more important than complexity.

These slides will be used in the digital gallery for the People Choice award, and if selected, for presentation at AIMed26.

Supporting the next generation

We are committed to supporting the next generation of healthcare and AI leaders.

We strongly encourage participants to seek support from their institution or organisation to attend AIMed26. However, we recognise that this is not always possible.

For participants where cost would otherwise be a barrier, a limited number of AIMed scholarships are available to support registration and enable in-person participation.

Our goal is simple - to ensure that exceptional ideas are not limited by access or financial constraints.

If this support would make a meaningful difference to your ability to attend, we encourage you to indicate this during submission.

Why take part?

This is more than a competition - it is a platform to share ideas that matter.

By participating, you will:

  • Contribute to global conversations in AI and healthcare
  • Gain feedback from expert judges
  • Connect with peers and leaders in the field
  • Share your work on an international stage
  • Take a meaningful step toward publication and collaboration

Applicants are encouraged to explore institutional funding opportunities before requesting scholarship support. Presenting at AIMed26 offers a unique opportunity to showcase your work to global healthcare leaders, clinicians, researchers, and innovators. We recognise that funding access varies significantly across institutions and regions. If your organisation is able to support your attendance, we encourage presenters to register through standard channels. For individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial barriers, a limited number of AIMed Access Scholarships are available to support registration
