Timothy Chou
Founder
Pediatric Moonshot
Dr. Chou started his career in Silicon Valley at one of the very first Silicon Valley startups. He went on to become the first President of Oracle’s cloud computing business. He retired from Oracle and has served on several public company boards. In parallel with his commercial career, he has also taught at Stanford University for over forty years. For fifteen years he taught core computer science and only took a break because he had to fly to Bali for a sales kickoff meeting and get back within 36 hours to teach class. After retirement he went back to Stanford and started the world’s first class on cloud computing. A student in that class (Dr. Anthony Chang) inspired him to come out of retirement and found a new venture with a mission to reduce healthcare inequity, lower costs and improve outcomes for children rurally, locally and globally - by creating privacy preserving, real-time AI applications based on access to data in all 1,000,000 healthcare machines in all 500 children's hospitals in the world – the Pediatric Moonshot. The team is currently building Artemis, the world’s first privacy-preserving AI supercomputer for children’s medicine
